My Atomic Habits Journal (day 5)

I have been listening to the short stories of Mark Twain recently. I have also been listening to Tom Petty’s Wildflowers album- this came out of listening to the Broken Record podcast by Malcolm Gladwell, Rick Rubin, and Bruce Headlam.

Whether an artist is still with us or had passed, it is a wonder to listen to others speak their message. That’s what’s good about Medium.

Petty has a lyric in one of the Wildflowers’ songs which speaks to our worries and how they don’t always come true. When we are faced with uncertainty- do we think of the worst case and plan out? Or, worse for ourselves do we think of each little problem that comes from our worry?

After 2 days of uncertainty in my life, I came to a place of peace. I asked my kids to choose a place to make a donation because we were all in a better place.

This is not to say that I am doing something you are not- instead I am realizing the gratitude I need to show in my life. And that all of my worries don’t come true.

4 sun salutations; 3 sets of squats, 2 sets of lunges, 3 sets of calf raises, 3 sets of shoulder press, 3 sets of double shoulder lifts. Pray to God (after forgetting after the shower), loving kindness meditation for my family. Water, tea for me and my wife.
