Fragments: September 2


The phone vibrates again, it’s the 2nd time in an hour. We’ve gone from Tornado Watch, to Thunderstorm warning, to Tornado Warning.

I live in New York. On Long Island. How is this possible?

Rain pelts the roof, the wind gusts in huge, pushing rushes. A look out the window reveals rain that overtakes the rest of the view. It’s coming down at a Pythagorean 45 degrees. There’s no perceptible drops or streams of rain; it’s a blanket now.
